Wildflower Hike
Wildflower Hike at HMA

If you enjoy walking and hiking like we do, you have plenty of options in the Huntington WV area.

We recently went on the Greater Huntington Parks and Recreation District Wildflower Hike at the Huntington Museum of Art.  Trained volunteer docents shared their expertise and guided us along the 2 mile Tulip Tree Trail.  This hike appealed to grandparents, grandchildren and everyone in between.  The trail was sprinkled with trillium, phlox and fiddlehead ferns as well as artwork by local stone sculptor, Earl Gray. Our guide Ron did a great job of making sure all the kids were engaged.  We took a more strenuous route with some stair climbing but you can opt for a more gently trail with little to no elevation.

We also hike with the Huntington Area Hiking Club.  This group hikes great trails throughout the region,  some with overnight camping.  You can find their next hike on their Facebook page.

So get out there, enjoy nature and Take a Hike!
