We were not able to attend the Kentucky Derby this year and I’ve been under the weather because of a broken bone so we watched the race from our couch and enjoyed a little libation from a recipe I found online for Vanilla Bourbon Lemonade with Blackberry syrup.
We used one of my favorites, Blanton’s single barrel bourbon whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery one of the featured bourbons at the upcoming Bourbon and Beyond Festival in Louisville, Kentucky, September 22nd and 23rd. We will be sampling some more great bourbon cocktails over the next few month and sharing some tips for enjoying the festival for the over 50 crowd and anyone who enjoys great music, food and, of course, great bourbon!
