We couldn’t have been more thrilled with the ourboomlife.com sponsored “Bourbon and Beyond promotional Tasting Event.”  The excited, enthusiastic crowd at West Virginia’s premier whiskey bar- Huntington’s Sip Wine and Whiskey Bar – tasted fine Bourbons, won great prizes, greeted old pals, met new friends, and all hoped to win the golden envelope.  There were as many ladies as men, boomers as millennials, t-shirts wearers as dress shirt-ers in attendance.  Sip owner Allison White put out a fantastic spread of bourbon samples and snacks.  The sold out crowd had fun with Allison’s blind tasting where they had to pair the bourbon with its flavor description.  Six people matched up all four Bourbons!

A crowd surprise came shortly into the event when John Foster, Marketing Director for West Virginia’s own Smooth Ambler Distillery, popped in with an arm full of bottles and a bag full of swag.  Foster talked to the tasters about Mountain State bourbon pride, as Smooth Ambler is the only Non-Kentucky bourbon featured at September’s Bourbon and Beyond festival www.bourbonandbeyond.com in Louisville, Kentucky.  Foster was a fan fave, chatting one on one with many about the B&B fest, his bourbon, even a 20-year-old mystery rum.

Finally, after raffling off bottles of John’s Bourbon and Allison’s wine, a bag full of Smooth Ambler hats and mugs and two $100 gift certificates from Tony the Tailor, everybody clutched their tickets

hoping to win the advertised grand prize – two weekend passes for Bourbon and Beyond.

Bourbon and Beyond Weekend Pass Winners Jeff and Amy Ash – with a friend!

Jeff and Amy Ash- the lucky couple who won were overjoyed, and the couple they were with said they were getting their own tickets right away and going along to B&B!

Vickie and I want to thank Sip’s Allison White and her outstanding servers, Smooth Ambler’s John Foster and Danny Wimmer Presents (B&B Promoters) Marketing Manager Lindsey Medina for making this Bourbon and Beyond Promotional Tasting Event an awesome evening! Thanks especially to all who came and tasted and enjoyed – see you at Bourbon and Beyond!
